A funny thing happened in Croatia.....Interstellar has nothing on this journey....and...we're back (and, so is Richard!).../.....

A funny thing happened while on the road in Croatia..... we decided to fly to Portugal....

Met up with our daughter who is working/living in Lagos, Portugal. We were running out of time to spend in Croatia anyway, so why not...

Booked a cheap flight from Split, Croatia, through Stansted, England then back to Portugal (Faro).

Unlike sci-fi plots that show space travel, worm holes and slowing time travel, the journey getting there, didn't make us feel any younger.

Just a long round about day going north, then south, then an overnight in a hotel and finally a bus ride to Lagos, Portugal.

.....been 30 yrs since we were here.... Lagos still has the great beaches, stunning cliff side scenery, and a gentle, Portuguese ambiance.  What better way to wrap up our 2 months on the road?

....we visit with our daughter, her work, new friends...enjoy the music and bar life and reflect on our good fortune to be able to bump around the world as we do...

...we look for the little pension where we had a room 3 decades ago - can't find it, revisit beaches where we met good friends and will visit in England on our return back to Canada and try (without much success) to locate a restaurant we celebrated our 4th anniversary with Kim/Sandy, our new English friends that we shared some beach space with.....fun to revisit memory lane.....

.....call it karma, fate or good fortune, but after meeting Kim/Sandy 30 yrs ago on the beach, we meet Ian/Sara in Lagos and a new connection and friendship develops.....we hope for another 30 yrs....  "Life is not a rehearsal....."

....with the large number of British tourists here, Richard Branson sightings are frequent and funny...

.....seems our daughter's wonderful reputation has preceded us and we have attained some sort of 'legend' status here.... might have something to do with bar dancing or the 'RB' good looks??...

Time to say goodbye and get back on a plane to fly home, with a stopover in England for several days and visit Kim and Sandy..

Ouch, England is expensive! $50 sterling pounds = abt $100 Can...wallet can get light real fast here...
